Great Sand Dunes National Park

Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument
The park offers many activities to teach you about the history of this area. At the visitor center, located in the center of the park, exhibits go through the history of the Fossil Beds. Rangers also offer interpretive talks and free mini seminars in the summer.

Bishops Castle

Rainbow Trail
Rainbow Trail runs through the Sangre de Cristo mountain range, providing roughly 100 miles of outdoor hiking, biking and horseback riding fun. There are numerous trail heads in Westcliffe CO to access the Rainbow Trail. You can hike the many side trails that lead to mountain lakes and streams for fishing.

Silver Cliff Museum
The Silver Cliff Museum located in the historical Silver Cliff Town Hall and Fire House at 606 Main Street. This building was constructed in 1879, and still stands on its original site.
Open Memorial Day through Labor Day
Saturday-Sunday
1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.
Entry is free. Donations are greatly appreciated.

Lake Deweese Reservoir
DeWeese Reservoir, a 208-acre lake stocked with rainbow trout and small mouth bass. The reservoir is located just a few minutes north of town on Highway 69. Free camping is allowed just about anywhere along the lake that you can tow a camper but there are no services. Non-motorized boating is allowed on the lake.
