2009 WET MOUNTAIN VALLEY FARMERS MARKET

This years Farmer's Market will be held two days a week starting the last Thursday in May.

Thursday's: 4pm-6pm (pick-up CSA shares)
Saturday's: 10am-2pm

If you are interested in vending or participating in any fashion please contact Kristie Nackord  .
I am this years Market Organizer. Gulp! It's going to be good, ain't it? You bet! See you there!

To all interested vendors for the 2009 Wet Mountain Valley Farmer's Market:

As some of you may have already heard the location of the Farmer's Market has been moved. It will now be on 'the patio at Sangrita' @ 212 Main Street. This was formerly High Plains Mexican. Robyn Turner has graciously offered her beautiful space to us and is excited to be supporting local Valley growers and farmers. Yahoo!!!

Sangrita is Westcliffe's new restaurant featuring creative and changing menus using organic and locally grown food! It is a dream come true for many of us here in the Valley to have a restaurant that not only will be serving delicious organic food, but will also use our LOCALLY grown food!!! Marian Williams will be the chef on many of the days the restaurant is open (former owner of Marian's on Main Street) and on Thursday's and Saturday's specifically (the days of our farmers market) she will be using our local produce and creating special dishes for Sangrita patrons educating people how to work with veggie's. We will be creating recipe cards for people to take home that will hopefully inspire them to keep eating healthy, local foods. Lots more to come on that front. I see this as being a win-win for all of us!

Robyn will be promoting the Farmer's Market (and in inherent in that all of YOU!) through her advertising, PR, and community outreach efforts. Double YAHOO as we want our farmer's market to grow, grow, grow to make it a viable source of locally grown and crafted goods. In return, we are promoting Sangrita through having our Farmer's Market on the patio.

The cost to vend will now be $10 per table each market. I believe this is a great price to have such a welcoming and beautiful retail space to host our farmers market within. As studies have shown, having an attractive retail space makes the 'buying experience' more enjoyable and well...people will come and buy!!! That is the hope! People are welcome to share a table to split the cost (2 people per table please). We are in the process of defining more accurately what a "vending space" is and during our Kick-Off Farmer's Market meeting to be held at the beginning of May I will discuss that all in greater detail with you.

If you have any questions at this point please feel free to email me.
Thank you so much for being a part of the 2009 WMV Farmer's Market. I look forward to seeing you all soon!
